Competition Type
Open Category
Provides an opportunity for beginner choirs (those that have
never participated in an international competition before) who wish to gain experience
performing on an international stage and to be evaluated by judges with international
reputations. It is specifically intended for participants/choirs originating from the West
Java Province.
For IBCF 2026, there are 4 categories available in Open Category:
Elementary School
Participant are elementary school students
Junior High School
Participant are junior high school students
Senior High School
Participant are senior high school students
University & Public
Participant are university student and public
Solo Singing Competition
Open to all singers who wish to participate individually. Singers may come from Indonesia or
abroad and from all age groups.
For IBCF 2026, there are 7 categories available in the Solo Singing Competition:
Solo Children Participant aged 13 years and below
Solo Youth Participant aged between 12 and 18 years
Solo Adult Participant aged 17 years and above
Solo Classical Music Song include Aria, Lieder, Opera, etc. The choosen
song must have
been composed before 1900
Solo Sacred Music Song with a Christian spiritual background, in any genre
Solo Seriosa Indonesia Song from Indonesia's art song reportoire
Solo Popular Music Songs of various popular genres
Choir Competition
Open to choirs and vocal groups from across Indonesia and internationally, following the
regulations set by the Bandung Choral Society.
For IBCF 2026, there are 12 categories available in the Choir Competition:
Children's Choir Participant aged below 13 years
Teenager's Choir Participant aged between 13 and 17 years
Youth Choir Participant aged between 15 and 18 years
Mixed Choir Participant aged 17 years and above
Senior Choir Participant aged 50 years and above
Equal Voices Participant aged 18 years and above
Music of Religions Refers to religious music from any faith or
tadition.
Traditional Spiritual Spiritual songs rooted in African – Americans
traditions.
Folksong Includes regional songs arranged for choral performance.
Pop and Jazz Consists of popular song (either secular or
spiritual).
Vocal Group Encompasses free-choice songs from all music genres.
Musica Sacra Refers to sacred church music from ancient times to
the present

Each participation in every category has maximum 10 minutes to perform 2 songs that counts
from
first
note until the last note is sounded. If the total duration exceeds the allotted time, the
total
score will
be reduced by a penalty of 1 (one) point for every minute that passes.
The final score is the total of the average scores of each judge which determined by
following
criteria:

Sound Quality
Fidelity to the Score
Overall Artistic
This round uses a total score system of 100 with the final value grouping as follows:

The gold medal with the highest score will be announce as the “Winner of Category”.
If in one of the categories no participant gets a gold medal, there will be no "Winner of
Category".
For open category, the participants who have been named "Winner of the Category" will not
participate in
Grand
Prix Round and not get a thropy.
Solo Singing Competition

Each participation in every category has maximum 5 minutes to perform 1 song that counts
from first note

Grand Prix Round
Participants in the Grand Prix of Solo Competition are a category winner with a minimum
score of 85.00 and / or who recommended by the Artistic Director and Jury.
Participants who achieve more than 1 (one) Winner of Category, will perform once.
Participants are required to perform a new song of their own choice.
Grand Prix winners will receive a certificate and trophy “Grand Prix Solo Winner of the 6th
International Bandung Choral Festival 2026”.
Choir Competition

Grand Prix Round
Participants who qualify for the Grand Prix round are the Winner of Category with a minimum
score of
85.00 and/or participants who receive a recommendation from the Artistic Director and
the Jury.
Participants who qualify in more than 1 (one) category will perform once by presenting 2
(two) of their
best songs (in accordance with the applicable song program requirements for the Grand Prix
round),
with a maximum performance duration of 10 (ten) minutes
Participants are fully responsible for the copyright of the works performed in this round.
Any
participant who fails to meet this requirement will be considered withdrawn from the Grand
Prix
Round.
The Grand Prix Winner will receive a certificate and trophy as the “Grand Prix Winner of the
6th
International Bandung Choral Festival 2026” and will be granted the opportunity to directly
register
for the Grand Prix of the 16th Bali International Choir Festival 2027.

Choir Exchange is a fun and relaxed session where choirs from
different backgrounds come
together to share music and cultural ideas. It’s all about learning
from each other, making
new friends, and building lasting bonds through music. Participants

to register for FREE as long as slots are available.

This activity is an opportunity for all participants to receive
