Music is a very important part of human life. "Without music, Life would be a mistake" as the saying goes. Therefore, we need to build music well so that our human values become intact. More specifically, the development of choirs as a forum for musical activities (specifically singing) can foster various values such as togetherness, mutual respect (tolerance), living in harmony and peace, building a virtuous and quality national character.

It is time for the Regional Pesparawi Development Institute (LPPD) of Bitung City to take the initiative to build regional choirs and expand to other regions and internationally. Building a choir takes time and dedication through continuous education, training and performances. LEMBEH STRAIT - INTERNATIONAL BITUNG CHOIR FESTIVAL 2023

While giving thanks to God the Most Gracious, I warmly welcome LEMBEH STRAIT - INTERNATIONAL BITUNG CHOIR FESTIVAL 2023 which will be held on 4-7 October 2023. I also congratulate and thank the Bitung City Government for holding this Choir Festival, which is open for community choirs throughout Indonesia and also international choirs.

Choir development is very important and must be carried out continuously because the formation and development of choirs takes a long time and is continual. Through the Choir Festival being held, it will stimulate the activities of singers, coaches and various aspects and areas of life involved. In addition to singing activities, choir activities can also explore and develop cultural and socio-economic potential.

Bitung City is a city that is developing very rapidly as an active port city and various natural resources. Abundant marine and agricultural products, highly developed industries and a religious community living in harmony and friendliness. However, what is very special is that the people of Bitung who really like to sing can be found in all districts, churches and the wider community. The art of singing masamper, pato-pato has very strong roots side by side with traditional and modern choir singing arts.
