Tommyanto Kandisaputra is the Founder, Artistic Director, and Conductor of Studio Cantorum Bandung Choir & Orchestra, Founder and Chairman of Bandung Choral Society who has been organizing concerts, choral workshop, symposiums, and competition, Artistic Director of the successful Bali International Choir Festival in Denpasar - Bali which has been being held since 2012 and will get to its 8th edition will be organizing in this July 2019. He organized another successful choral festival such as Rhapsodie Indonesia Choir Festival and Jakarta World Choir Festival in 2019.

He is a voice consultant and conducts many choral development programs all over Indonesia, and appointed to be the World Choir Council member in 2006, became the representative of INTERKULTUR, and successfully brought Indonesian choirs to international stages and choir competitions.

He became the Indonesian representative for the “One Asia Cultural Ambassador” in 2014 organized by “The Music for One Foundation”, South Korea. In 2016 he was invited to conduct the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Choir at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, and to be the speaker at the Asian Pacific Children Choir Assembly in Okinawa. He was the guest speaker at Lithuanian’s Conductors Summer Academy 2017, thereafter as jury at Suwon Choral Festival and clinician at Jeju Senior Choir Festival – South Korea.

He organized another successful choral festival such as Rhapsodie Indonesia Choir Festival and Jakarta World Choir Festival in 2019. In this pandemic COVID19 situation, he is doing the World Virtual Choir Festival 2020 for the first tine. 

Currently Tommyanto is very active in holding choral education activities through choral symposiums since 2003,  choral camp and workshops  all over Indonesia.

Susanna Saw is an active music educator promoting music and choral education

in Malaysia. She obtained her Master in Music Education (Choral Focus Area)

from Westminster Choir College, U.S.A. She is currently a lecturer and choir

director at the Faculty of Music at University of Malaya (UM) and the Malaysian

Institute of Art (MIA), where she conducts the MIA Ladies Chorus, which has won

many Gold Medals from various international competitions.

In 2007, Susanna established the Young Choral Academy in Kuala Lumpur, a

venue for choral lovers to learn more about choral education. She was

instrumental in bringing the Kodály Training Course to Malaysia to improve local

standards of classroom music teaching.

From 2007 on, Susanna has been regularly invited by the Interkultur Foundation,

Germany, to be a member of the Jury for the Asia Pacific and World Choir

Games. Susanna has been appointed a Working Committee for the Asia-Pacific

Choral Council, under the auspices of the International Federation of Choral

Music (IFCM). She is the Organizing Chairperson for the 24th International

Kodály Symposium 2019, in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, and through this,

hopes to bring more awareness on the Kodály teaching philosophy to the Asia

Region.

T. J. HARPER is Associate Professor of Music, Director of Choral Activities, and Chair of the Department of Music at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. During his previous tenure at Providence College he was honored to receive the Joseph R. Accinno Teacher of the Year Award.

Dr. Harper is a Board Member for the International Federation of Choral Music (IFCM), the Chair of the ACDA Standing Committee on International Activities, and the Director of the ACDA International Conductors Exchange Program (ICEP). He was the President of the Rhode Island Music Educators Association (RIMEA) and the President of the Rhode Island chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.

Dr. Harper received the Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree from the University of Southern California where he graduated with honors. He received the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Choral Conducting from California State University, Northridge and the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree and Choral Conducting from California State University, Fresno.  He taught middle school and high school in the California public school system for six years and was honored for excellence in teaching in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. As a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, MENC, ACDA, Chorus America, NCCO and the International Federation of Choral Music (IFCM), Dr. Harper is an advocate for the promotion of undergraduate education and choral music in the public schools and institutions of higher education.

Dr. Beverly Shangkuan-Cheng is the President of the Philippine Choral Directors Association and a full-time faculty member of the University of the Philippines College of Music, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate conducting. She is also the Principal Conductor of the Ateneo de Manila College Glee Club, Resident Conductor of the Philippines’ International Bamboo Organ Festival, and Founding Conductor of the Dawani Women’s Choir. Previously, she conducted the Yale University Battell Chapel Choir, the Yale Marquand Chapel Choir, the University of Michigan Residential College Singers, and the University of Michigan Opera Chorus.

She is a First Prize Winner at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Graduate Conducting Competition, the most prestigious national conducting competition in the United States. Her other conducting and academic awards include the Levi Barbour Fellowship from the University of Michigan, the Phyllis Curtin Career Entry Award from the Yale School of Music, the Ani ng Dangal award from the Office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines, the Margot Fassler Award and the Hugh Giles Prize from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. 

Recently, she became an Adjudicator and the Philippine representative to the World Choir Council for the 2018 World Choir Games. She was also appointed as Conductor of the Asia Pacific Youth Choir for its 2018 Season. Performance and adjudication engagements have brought her to South Africa, Germany, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Spain, Vietnam, Portugal, and Singapore. She also regularly leads workshops in different parts of the Philippines. 

Dr. Shangkuan-Cheng received a Bachelor of Music (summa cum laude) from the University of the Philippines, a Master of Music from the Yale School of Music and the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Michigan.

As a Senior lecturer of composition at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, a composer of music ranging from choir, symphonic band, wind ensemble, chamber music to large scale orchestral works, Zechariah Goh Toh Chai has carefully fused South East Asian-Chinese with Western traditions. He worked on his Doctorate degree majoring in Composition under the guidance of Dr. Charles Hoag at The University of Kansas USA.

Since the 1990s, Dr Zechariah Goh’s choral works has won many international competitions. Zechariah has been commissioned by SYC Ensemble Singers, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore National Youth Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Diocesan Boys school Choir (Hong Kong), Diocesan Girls’ School Choir (Hong Kong), The Fidelio Piano Trio, Nanyang academy of Fine Arts Orchestra, The Philharmonic Wind Ensemble, The National Arts Council of Singapore, and etc. Zechariah Goh is also an active speaker at International music conferences such as the WASBE, ISME, APSME, and etc.

Bianca Lopez is a graduate of the University of the Philippines College of Music. She was a soprano of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, the Philippine’s premier choral group, for 9 years having won the European Grand Prix in Arrezzo, Italy in 2007 and being awarded with the UNESCO Artist for Peace in Paris, France in 2009. 

She has done numerous operas in the Cultural Center of the Philippines and in Manhattan, New York, namely, Antonín Dvořák’s Rusalka, Ryan Cayabyab’s Spoliarium, and the recently concluded Noli Me Tangere The Opera where she played Maria Clara for three seasons. She is currently singing with The Nightingales, a classical-pop crossover duo who performed concerts in Europe, the US, Ethiopia, Taiwan and here in the Philippines. She recently performed with the group in Carnegie Hall in New York, San Francisco and Mexico City last June and has done numerous concerts with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra around the Philippines. Last September 2019, she made her musical theater debut performing as Jenny in Stephen Sondheim's Company at the Maybank Performing Arts Center. 

She established the Bianca Lopez Vocal Coaching Online in 2020 to share knowledge and help aspiring singers all around the world find their voices. Despite these uncertain times, she hopes that singing and music can bring happiness into people’s lives.
